For the materials and emissions classified 1a or 1b with relevance to § 10 EU-HSO there are 3 special duties:

  1. To prove that the emissions limits inside the workstation are complied they must be measured permanently by a sensor.
  2. The measurement results must be saved over a period of 40 years and a copy has to be handed over to the employee.

However, some smash repair shops are understandably reluctant to invest in a rivet gun necessary to undertake these tasks, arguing that they don’t get enough work to justify the initial outlay. But it is an investment that will be needed sooner or later with the changes in repair processes.
